About This Attraction
Steve Vukile Tshwete born in 12 November 1938 in Springs. He was a political activist involved in the Umkhonto we Sizwe a military wing of the African National Congress. Steve Tshwete was imprisoned by the apartheid authorities on Robben Island from February 1964 to 1978 and later went to exile.
Upon his return in 1990 he resumed activities with the A.N.C and became a regional coordinator for the United Democratic Front and was buried in Peelton outside King Williams Town in 2002.
